Day 2 of the Battle of the Bay Classic

Nachbauer/Schumacher advance to Semifinals of the Battle of the Bay Classic

Day 2 of the Battle of the Bay Classic featured Senior Rainer Nachbauer(Bregenz,Austria)and Freshman Will Schumacher (New Orleans,LA)defeating St. Mary's Maxime Olivan and Lucas Tirelli 8-4 to advance to the semifinal round of the Battle of the Bay Classic. Nachbauer and Schumacher will face Cal-Berkeleys Tommy Murphy and Nicholas Andrews who earlier in the day defeated USF's Thai Tu and Asaf Cohen 9-8(5). In singles action Sophomore Thai Tu defeated former teammate and Cal Bear Tommy Murphy 6-2,7-6(2) while SCU's Jay Wong defeated USF's Einar Hart 6-3,6-4 in first round action. USF's Asaf Cohen's also fell to Stanford's Denis Lin 7-5,6-2. Play for Day 3 will take place at 10a.m. at the California Tennis Club. For more information log onto www.battleofthebayclassic.com
