USF falls to #45 University of Arizona

Tommy Tu and Asaf Cohen of the USF men's tennis team earned a doubles victory Saturday, but the Dons were unable to up-end the No. 40 Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, falling 7-0. With the loss, USF is still in search of its first victory of the season with a 0-6 record.
Cohen and Tu earned the lone USF victory of the day at the No. 1 Doubles spot, downing Ravid Hazi and Francois Vandermerwe 8-7 (7-5). Arizona earned the doubles point after taking 8-4 victories at No. 2 and 3.
In singles play, Einar Hart forced three sets, but was unable to capture the victory at No. 5. Hart fell to Jason Zafiros 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. Tu and Mitch Del Rosario also each posted hard fought battles at the No. 1 and 6 spots, respectively, but were unable to capture a point for the Dons.
USF will hit the courts again Wednesday, Feb. 18, as they travel to Moraga to face WCC foe Saint Mary's. This season, San Francisco is 0-5 overall (WCC 0-1) against conference foes. The Dons have played every match this season on the road against a nationally ranked opponent except for the season opponer losing to University of Portland 4-3 in Seattle.
