

Tu Earns Sixth Straight Singles Victory As Dons Fall
(San Francisco) - Tommy Tu won his sixth consecutive singles match Thursday, but the USF men's tennis team fell short, falling 4-3 to Alabama-Birmingham at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
UAB jumped out to an early advantage, taking two of three doubles matches from the Dons (3-7 overall). San Francisco's lone doubles victory came at the No. 1 spot, where Tu and Asaf Cohen posted an 8-6 victory for the duo's sixth straight doubles win.
USF rallied back in singles action, taking victories at the No. 1, 5 and 6 spots. Tu, who is ranked 95th nationally, earned his sixth consecutive victory at No. 1 thanks to a 6-4, 6-3 straight set win over Slawek Szeremeta. Playing No. 5, Rainer Nachbauer swept Tommy Petrich 7-5, 6-2, while Einar Hart earned a 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 victory over Tyrone Ewels at the No. 6 position.
The Dons will look to bounce back Tuesday, March 17, when they host Northern Colorado at the Cal Club. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
