Dons Return Home To Host LMU



Men's Tennis looks to improve on 2-2 record vs. WCC teams

(San Francisco,CA) - The USF men's tennis team returns to San Francisco this weekend, as the Dons host West Coast Conference foe Loyola Marymount. The Dons and Lions will meet Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Cal Club.

USF is looking to improve on its 4-10 overall record, including a 2-2 mark against league opponents. San Francisco's two WCC wins came against then-No. 55 Saint Mary's, 6-1, February 18 and a 6-1 decision over Gonzaga February 27.

Senior Tommy Tu, who is ranked No. 103 nationally in the most updated singles rankings, leads the Dons with a 9-5 overall record, including a perfect 4-0 mark when playing against West Coast Conference teams. Tu has also won eight of the last 10 matches and posted a 5-1 record in the month of March to pace the Dons.

In doubles action, Tu and doubles partner Asaf Cohen lead the USF campaign, with a 7-2 mark, all coming at the top spot. Against WCC foes, the duo is 3-0. Prior to losing the last two doubles contests, Tu and Cohen were a perfect 7-0 to start the spring season.

Following the match with the Lions, the Dons will take the court again April 8 as they host Santa Clara. The match with the Broncos was previously scheduled for early February but was postponed due to weather. USF and SCU will now face off on the 8th at the Olympic Club at 1 p.m.
